2022 MASRC Run

On September 24, 2022, the Anti-Racism in Sport Campaign partnered with the Manitoba Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Council and Athletics Manitoba to host the second annual 5km Run/Walk/Roll to raise funds for Indigenous women and girls sport and recreation programs. Access and Inclusion to Sport Virtual Conference

The Anti-Racism in Sport Campaign hosted a two-day virtual conference on January 22 and February 5, 2022.

The conference examined the perspectives, experiences and barriers that historically excluded groups experience in sport as well as some of the ways organizations can make sport more inclusive. Links to the recordings are now available, as well as some additional resources.

Anti-Racism in Sport Research Report Launch

On December 15, 2021, the Campaign released a comprehensive research report on detailing lived experiences of members of Winnipeg’s sport community.

Anti-Racism in Sport Campaign Launch

On April 21, 2021, Immigration Partnership Winnipeg, with over 25 community partners, launched Winnipeg’s Anti-Racism in Sport Campaign. Funded by the Canadian Heritage, the campaign seeks to disrupt all levels of racism, from micro-aggressions to and systemic racism, through a multifaceted approach that includes: a research project, junior high school presentations, training for sport stakeholders, a public awareness campaign, and an Anti-Racism in Sport Accord. The campaign partners with diverse Winnipeg-based partners and stakeholders to address racism and discrimination in sport in our city. The launch MC was local business owner and Winnipeg Blue Bomber legend, Ibrahim “Obby” Khan.
